Our Projects

Colony Construction has built across Canada for more than four decades, completing over 700 steel construction projects in every province and territory since our founding in 1985. The portfolio below showcases a representative sample of our Canadian work – gold, copper, and diamond mines; oil sands facilities; hydroelectric powerhouses; sawmills and forestry plants; aviation hangars; and public recreation landmarks that have hosted Olympic events and regional championships. Each project reflects the same single-source discipline we bring to every contract: engineering, fabrication, erection, and finishing handled by one accountable team with transparent reporting from mobilization through commissioning.

Our Canadian project record spans the full range of geographies and conditions. In the North, we have delivered for Diavik Diamond Mines in the Northwest Territories and the Mayo B powerhouse in Yukon, working through winter roads, flight-in crews, and Arctic-grade erection windows. In British Columbia, our home province, we have completed the Brucejack Gold Mine, Newmont Red Chris Mine, Interfor Adams Lake Sawmill, West Fraser Quesnel Sawmill, Teck HVC Mantle Rebuild Facility, and the Conair Hangar, among many others – a portfolio that spans remote interior mining to Lower Mainland industrial and aviation work. In Alberta, our Edmonton office has built for Imperial Oil Kearl Lake, Syncrude Mildred Lake, and MEG Energy Phase 2, three flagship oil sands developments where safety, modularization, and tie-in discipline are non-negotiable.

Beyond the big industrial names, our Canadian portfolio includes public and infrastructure work that communities use every day. The Whistler Olympic Plaza Pavilion and Peak 2 Peak Gondola terminals host millions of visitors annually. The UNBC Sports Center in Prince George serves university athletics and community recreation. Dockside Green’s biomass energy facility in Victoria was an early Colony contribution to Canadian renewable energy infrastructure. Seastar Chemicals in Sidney, BC, anchors advanced-materials manufacturing on Vancouver Island. And the LNG Cedar Valley Lodge in Kitimat supports one of the largest natural gas export developments in Canadian history.

Antamina Copper Mine

Filter Building and Concentrate Storage Building for Minera Antamina in the Peruvian Andes – a 120,000 sq ft, 115-foot-high concentrate storage envelope plus the filter building, delivered to one of the largest copper-zinc mines in the world.

Kupol Russia Gold Mine

A 200,000 sq ft pre-engineered steel package for BEMA Gold Corp's Kupol gold mine in northern Russia – grinding bay, tank building, powerhouse, warehouse, mill, crusher, and truckshop, all engineered for an Arctic operating envelope.

Eskay Creek Mine – Process Plant Building

Approximately 76,000 sq ft process plant building for Skeena Resources at the Eskay Creek mine site in the Kitimat-Stikine, BC – Colony's most recent major BC mining process plant delivery.

Langley Events Center – Ice and Dry Arena Facility

A 264,937 sq ft multi-level ice and dry rink arena facility in Langley, BC for the Lark Group – two integrated buildings combining conventional steel and pre-engineered structure on a single connected campus.
