Our Story

80's

80s

Colony was founded in 1985 by David Thompson. Although he started by constructing fairly average pre-engineered steel buildings, he had lofty goals...

90's

By the early 90's, Colony became one of the largest pre-engineered steel builders in Canada, and commenced its international division, constructing projects around the globe.

In the early 2000's, Thompson's nephew, Jesse Atkinson, joined the Colony team and started laying the ground-work for growth and diversifications of service offerings.

Atkinson acquired Colony from Thompson and embarked on expanding Colony's services to include design-build general contracting.

Colony adjusts it's strategic plan to include extreme goals relating to client satisfaction and employee loyalty, never before seen in the construction industry.
