Our Project

Imperial Oil Kearl Lake

Client: Syncrude / Kiewit Energy

Project Size: 18,000 SF | 5,500 SM

Location: Kearl Lake, Alberta

Scope of Project: Intake Pump House: conventional steel building, walls and roof, crane beams, monorails, floor steel, equipment setting, installation of these items.

Constructed through freezing temperatures in Alberta’s north, this conventional steel building houses colossal-sized pumps to move water from the river to Syncrude’s Kearl Lake Mine. Colony was responsible for meeting an aggressive schedule for the supply, detailing, fabrication, and installation of the building’s structural steel (including internal floors and equipment platforms). We also supplied and installed the architectural package including cladding, roofing and doors.
